The above meeting will be held on Monday 27th April 2026 in the Ballroom at the Town Hall, at 7.00pm,
Doors will be open from 6:30pm.
It would be appreciated if a representative of user groups collecting a grant could attend or forward a report on your activities during the
past year, indicating the organisation, membership etc. in no more than 75 words.
Also, this year we are requesting that you send photographs of events or activities that your group has been involved with to be displayed around the room on the day/evening of the meeting.
Organisations in receipt of parish grants are expected to attend, these have all been previously contacted,
failure to do so may affect grant availability.

Extra Town Council meeting last night.
On the agenda was an item regarding an upcoming ITV programme about Angus's, PFAS and the alleged pollution in Bentham.
Cllr Marshal objected to the derogatory term "Toxic Town".
Cllr Stannard wanted to wait and see the programme before deciding to respond.
A team from ITN attended and filmed a pretty uneventful meeting, About 20 members of the public also.
Ex employee, Cllr Macely-Young who seems to be a director of a 'Cleaner Bentham action group' Left the room while the discussion took place as he has a conflict of interests.
ITV item due to air on Sunday eve.
Sadly this is not just a Bentham issue, forever chemicals come in all shapes and sizes and all over the world.
The other item of interest was the decision to give the proceeds from the sale of the youth club building about £50k to the Playing Fields Committee as a contribution toward a new clubhouse.
Investing in the future of the community.

Sounds like the new playing fields clubhouse is going forward as the Bentham Town Council agreed to support the scheme with some funds at their March meeting.
